I'm determined to get out of the house today. Yes I know this is probably going to be some of the coldest weather yet this week, but I am so tired of being cooped up inside all day every day with my crazy. Maybe a little nippy weather will do the trick. Haha. It hasn't helped being so sick for the last 3 weeks, but I am finally starting to feel better, so today is the day! I need to take advantage of a balmy 30-something day before the temps drop into the teens and below starting tomorrow.
I'm feeling the baby kick every day now. It's kicking a lot too...which has me worried that I'll have another crazy boy. :) I'll love him if I do but I would LOVE to have a little girl this time around to keep her big brother in line. My ultrasound is on Feb 6th, and I'm really torn whether or not I should find out this time what I am having. I haven't even thought about names yet, totally slacking this time around. About the only thing I've done to prepare so far is immerse myself in VBAC literature, which does get old after a while. I can tell you all the stats on VBACs vs. Cesareans and what to do to achieve a successful VBAC...hopefully it works! I'm starting to interview Doula's so I'll have a little extra support this time around too.
Let's see, what else have I managed to dabble in during my captivity indoors...I tried a few new recipes over the weekend. Made this yum yum
smoothie, which was super easy and I believe quite healthy

Oh and I have a movie recommendation, especially for those who are moms and who like dogs. Marley and Me was a GREAT movie. You will probably cry your eyes out, but it is totally worth seeing and I could really relate to a lot of it which is perhaps why I liked it so much.
I've also read some good books:
Where the Heart Is - Billie Letts
Midwives - Chris Bohjahlian
The Christmas Train - David Baldacci
The VBAC Companion - which I'm sure most of you would find absolutely riveting
Derrick is insistent that we start "real" potty training with Carter so my instructions from "the boss" are to take him into the bathroom anytime I'm in there and set him down on the potty. About the only progress we've made in the first week of training is that he has learned the word potty. Unfortunately, he thinks it is fun to take the potty apart and put it on his head. Oh well, he'll learn eventually, right??
